Received the unit in good shape and the components appear to be worthy of the higher price. The unit is highly responsive and surprised us by continuing to pump when the sky was cloudy-bright. I expect this unit will be durable and we will probably buy more units in coming weeks.

This pump just didn't work good. I live in the desert and even when the solar panel was placed in the full mid-day desert sun on a 90 degree day, the water just dripped and dribbled out intermittently... sometimes coming to a complete stop. The pump is tiny and so is the solar panel.

This thing is weak. When they say 14 inches, they must be talking about all the extensions that come in the kit, because the water is not going that high! it barely trickles out in full sun. Take into account a passing cloud and this thing shuts down completely. I was going to return it but they wouldn't take it back because i did not keep the baggie that the fittings came in or the plastic sheet they had over the solar panel. I think one star is too high of a rating.
